Course Outline

Chapter 8: How long ago?

Learn to use the past simple for negatives and time expressions with “ago” (e.g., “People didn’t watch TV a hundred years ago”). Talk about dates and times (e.g., “in 1994, at seven o’clock”).

Chapter 9: Food You Like!

Discuss food preferences with countable and uncountable nouns (e.g., “apples” vs. “apple juice”) and polite requests (e.g., “Would you like some cake?”). Practice using much, many, a, and some for quantities.

Chapter 10: Bigger And Better!

Use comparatives and superlatives to compare places and things (e.g., “The country is cheaper than the city”). Learn how to use have got to talk about possessions (e.g., “I haven’t got much money”).

Chapter 11: Looking Good!

Practice the present continuous to talk about what people are wearing (e.g., “I’m wearing jeans”) and learn to ask and answer questions with whose (e.g., “Whose is the bike?”). Explore possessive pronouns like mine and yours.

Chapter 12: Life’s an Adventure

Plan the future using going to (e.g., “I’m going to be a ballet dancer”) and use the infinitive of purpose to explain why (e.g., “I’m going to Holland to see the tulips”). Talk about the weather and make suggestions.

Chapter 13: How Terribly Clever!

Ask and answer detailed questions using different forms (e.g., “why, how many, which”). Learn how to describe actions and feelings with adjectives and adverbs (e.g., “quick, quickly, good, well”).

Chapter 14: Have You Ever?

Explore the present perfect with ever, never, yet, and just to talk about experiences (e.g., “Have you ever been to Paris?”). Compare it with the past simple to discuss completed actions (e.g., “Maria’s been to Berlin. She went there two years ago”).

Terms and Conditions

  • Your English A2.2 Elementary Course fee includes one digital copy of the learning materials. If you’d prefer a hard copy, you can purchase one from our recommended supplier at an extra cost.
  • Public group classes are designed for 30 academic hours per CEFR level. If the group grows to 5-7 students, we’ll extend the program by 10 academic hours. If only two students enroll before the course starts, the group will shift to a semi-private format with 20 academic hours.
  • Want to switch to a different group or schedule? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
  • All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or has an emergency, we’ll arrange a substitute who’s fully briefed on your progress.
  • Once you’ve started with your group, switching to another group or schedule isn’t possible.
  • Please note that course fees are non-refundable once the group classes have begun.
  • We can record group lessons for later viewing, but only if everyone in the class agrees before the course starts.
  • At the end of every program, you’ll take a final exam (both written and verbal). To move up to the next CEFR level, you’ll need to score at least 70%.
  • After completing your final exam, you’ll receive a progress report, recommendations, and a English A2.2 Elementary Course certification for your hard work!
